It’s the 50th Annual Earth Day Festival

The Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival is a two-day event that celebrates the Earth, while also educating visitors on the climate crisis. This year, the event will celebrate its 50th year and will be held at Alameda Park, July 10-12. Families are friends are invited shop the numerous local vendors, enjoy full lineups of live music and speakers, enjoy delicious local eats and so much more. Shop Local Sustainable Vendors

While at the festival, make sure to explore the Eco Marketplace featuring a variety of local vendors. The marketplace is filled with green items, like organic clothing and sustainable household products. On the nearby eMarket Stage, visitors can watch demonstrations and presentations on the newest eco products. After shopping, head to Food Court & Truck area where you’ll find even more local vendors, this time serving up all sorts of eco-friendly eats.

The Santa Barbara Earth Day’s Green Car Show is an annual showcase and test-drive event featuring the latest eco-friendly and electric vehicles. This show displays the largest collection of clean vehicles on the Central Coast, including plug-in electric, hybrid and fuel cell vehicles. At the festival, make sure to take some time to explore the different cars!

Take the Kids to Kids Corner

While the entire event is family-friendly, the festival’s Kids Corner is especially designed for little visitors to have fun! This corner has plenty of kid-friendly activities as well as a Kid Stage, featuring entertainment. Older ones can also venture to the Great Outdoors section of the festival where they’ll find things like an archery arcade and climbing tower.

Another Earth Event to Look Forward To

If Earth Day Festival just isn’t enough celebrating for you (it’s okay, we get it), then join the entire state of California on Sep 26 for the annual California Coast Cleanup Day. Although not directly tied to Earth Day, this event is the largest volunteer effort in the state. Last year, over 650 pounds of recyclables and 5,600 pounds of trash were removed from area beaches.
